In 1745-46 Jean-Phillippe de Cheseauxdiscovered a nebula which looks very similar to the shape of Eagle. The identifiable shape has gave it the name of “Eagle Nebula” which contains several active star-forming gas and dust regions and most importantly the pillars of creation as portrayed in this painting.
